This has nothing to do with WedFest '010 but I'm going to show you a picture from it that illustrates a point. That point being, I don't take very good candid shots:
You see, I'm just having a normal conversation with my friend Stacy. But my normal conversations are punctuated with a lot of facial expressions and hand gestures. So I'm animated. I'm pretty sure you could have guessed this about me. But this means that all candid shots of me look like I'm having some sort of epileptic fit. I've come to terms with it. In fact, most of them could be interpreted as me singing to people. Like this one could be of me singing my awesome rendition the Mariah Carey classic, "Hero". I'm killing the high notes.
Years from now those pictures will be dug up and I will be known amongst my posterity as that crazy aunt who sang all of her conversations. I could totally live with that.

I can't believe Uncle Jeep was walking around with a camera. :)
You are cute!
Samsies. I have never, to date, taken a good candid photo. As it turns out, I'm allllllllways talking, and every photo catches me mid-word, mid-weird expression.
Also, I like your dress/sweater, and I think this is a really cute photo of you.
I too would like to say I think it's a cute photo of you. Love the dress, love the green sweater as a pop of color (Stacey and Clinton would agree), and love the hair!
I have this same issue. In fact, last week we were at the park for play group and a woman in our ward who takes pictures was there. She was snapping pictures like crazy and I kept thinking, "you ruined my playgroup" since I didn't feel comfortable gettting into conversations while she was snapping her camera. I was also using all available concentration to suck it in, so I looked 10 lbs lighter. Pox on candid pictures!
My dad is a relentless candid photo snapper, and he knows that the rule with me is that no profile shots are allowed. From the front I can convince cameras that I have a chin, but there's nothing I can do from the side. I tend to make a silly face when I know a camera is close by. Then it doesn't matter if my mouth is full of food or I am missing a chin. I love your dress and green sweater. You look super cute. And I agree that your rendition of "Hero" is fantastic.
I know very few people who "candid" really well. My daughter is a photographer and has trained her children, from a very young age, to pose on demand. And I mean pose! When they see a camera, they angle their bodies, drop their chins, and cheese it really well. In fact, the two-year-old knew what "pensive" meant before he knew the word "no". Yea...
We have "camera issues"....
I am enjoying one of those yummy cupcakes in the background =)
You could do much worse. I mean, hey! Seizures and singing are way better than consumption. :)
