Who else was heartbroken over Andy Murray losing Wimbledon this morning? Anyone? Well, I was. I mean, the kid has just tried so hard. And in any other era he would be the best, except that he's in the era of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. And he has the whole weight of the Empire on his shoulders. Ugh, the poor lamb.
I consoled myself by eating an OtterPop and taking a nap. Which I'm sure he also did, as those are two things that are bound to bring some kind of peace and perspective.
Oh well, on to the Olympics with you, Andy.
Speaking of, who is SUPER PUMPED for the Olympics like? I'm not just talking about casually interested in them as in, "Hm, do I watch the 1500 meter time trials or do I watch the Kardashians?" (fact: if you choose the Kardashians over the Olympics you are dead to me. And do not even try to convince me otherwise. No amount of brownies will get you back over on the good list.) I am talking about clearing out your DVR and freeing up your schedule for two whole weeks so that you can devote all non working/sleeping hours to watching every single event that they care to show, including dressage because fancy horse stepping is sort of mesmerizing. That's the kind of excitement I'm looking for.
If you were the freakishly atheltic type what Olympic sport would you participate in? I would chose some kind of water sport, like kayaking or rowing because 1.) you get to sit and 2.) when you're done you can just jump in the water to cool off and 3.) I love me a boat.

Gymnastics, hands down. Cliche? Maybe. But I don't care...gymnasts are the closest people will ever come to flying.
My sisters and I spent every free moment summer 1996 doing summersaults on the back of our leather couch...it was the perfect beam. Also that summer we lived in an apartment building with a pool...and a pool is really the perfect place to play gymnast....only place I've ever been able to stick a triple backflip.
So yeah. The Kardashians are going to have to wait.
I'm sooooo excited! I've been waiting for this for 4 years now. I keep giving Andrew an ultimatum, either we get DVR or I quit my job so that I can stay up to watch the coverage.
I've always liked gymnastics but the thought of doing it freaks me out. I'd be the person to land on my head and then be totally paralyzed. How about I join your rowing team? We can practice in Newport and then when we're done we can grab a shake at Ruby's on the pier.
I still have tears in my eyes for Andy. That poor sensative soul.
And I would be a Synchronized swimmer, hands down, for the outfits and sparkly make-up alone.
PS I was just reading up on Summer Olympic sports. Did you know that tug-o-war used to be an olympic sport from 1900-1920. I say we petition to bring it back. I dominated tug-o-war in elementary school. This may be my only chance to be an olympian.
I'm stoked. I would be a gymnast, but I'd insist on boy shorts, because I don't love picking a wedgie in front of the world. I will be spending a vast amount of time watching sports, and it's great, because I don't have to pause or change the channel when the little innocent boys walk in the room. Unless it's fencing. I don't want them to get any ideas.
I can't even get over the fact that Andrea doesn't have DVR!!! WHAT ON EARTH???
I'm totally with Camille on this one...synchronized swimming all the way. I got to see the final match (is that what they call it?) in the 1984 Olympics and I was in love with it ever since. You know I'm all over it when it involves music and sparkley outfits!!!
I have been watching ALL the trials...so I'd say I am a BIT into it. My kids even love it. Ella's been doing gymnastics on every McDonald's bench we tend to.
Although the winter olympics are vastly inferior in almost every way (they do have hockey, so that's a plus), I'd have to be a curler. I mean, what other olympic sport can you do with a beverage in your hand?
Gymnastics, curling, synchronized swimming . . . all great, but if we're dreaming, let's dream big . . . equestrian!!! It's all those things, but with a pony.
Beach Volleyball, all the way. Last weekend I started practicing so that I'll be ready....Although, I'd definitely try out for Rachel's rowing team, because I love Andrea's vision.
OH--Or Archery!!!
