My Passion Runs Deep

Nothing was sounding very appetizing for dinner tonight which means I instantly went to my back-up. Toast. Because toast always sounds good when nothing else does. So, maybe I got a little carried away...

An Ode to Toast

It's dark outside, the hour is late
There's nothing on my dinner plate
And all I want is something great...
Toast! Toast! Toast!

With peanut butter, jam, or honey
Nuetella when I have the money
Especially when my nose is runny...
Toast! Toast! Toast!

The bread is crispy golden brown
So nice and warm I can't put it down
In just a few seconds I'll go to town on...
Toast! Toast! Toast!

The most beautiful Ode to toast that I have ever read! (granted, it is the only one I've ever read). Anyhow, it was quite moving. . . in the sense that it almost made me move to make some toast. :)

I think you need to get in touch with one of Liz's literary friends and think about official publication!!

Actually...I can see it turned in to a song by The Wiggles or someone like that!

Love it! I think your next ode should be "O Holy Toast."

Ah, an Ode to Toast, just want I needed to read today!

If we are making requests, I'd love you to write an ode to your "World's Largest Felt Collection"...

Or maybe some limericks, I love those!!

at the city museum in st. louis they used to have a whole gallery of toasters--new and antique--and from everything i hear the thing that really completed the experience was the smell of toast wafting through the gallery. so smart and wonderful. why is it so good?!
