Total MuuMuu Immersion

I was talking to Amanda today about my Total MuuMuu Immersion when I'm 70. My plan is to completely switch out my wardrobe to muumuus. I hope that by that time my leg hairs will have stopped growing (I hear rumors that this happens) so I won't have to shave my legs every day. Being a good friend, Amanda cautioned me to not think too much about it because I am liable to just bag the wait and start now - seeing as I'm 80 and all. But I told her that I refuse to even go to the grocery store in work out clothes, like every other human being does, so she doesn't have much to worry about now.

Except that it was an exhausting day today. I've been fighting off this mutant cough for 4 days now and this was the first morning I woke up feeling like I could face the world. So I made a list of things to do and got at them. Only I didn't factor in the Valentine's Day crowd. I went to Target and there were hundreds of people in line with flowers and candies and teddy bears and then I went to Albertson's and it was the same story and two hours later I got home and all I wanted was a muumuu and a nap.

Instead I made dessert won tons for our Olympics party we're throwing tonight. Here's a taste of what the festivities will be like:

Definitely worth missing a nap.

An olympics party sounds divine! I'm already imagining the treats...

I think it might be true about the leg hair. I can tell you for a fact that (TMI alert) that my underarm hair is GONE!!! just simply vanished. It's wonderful. no shaving ever again. EVER!!! Also, the hair on my upper legs, north of my knee caps is also gone. pfft! disappeared to some vast hairy planet never to be seen again...and I'm okay with that. Of course, the hair on my head is thinner than ever as well, so I think it's connected. And I was blond as a child, so I don't know if being fair-haired had anything to do with it. The hair that is left on my legs is very fine and sparse, so I have my bald fingers crossed that one day it will follow suit...

Wow Rachel, you inspire me to think and hope for the oddest things, and to even go public about them...I just love that about you....

I am all for hte muu muu plan. Can we have matching ones? It is either that or we wear Jane Fonda-like exercise clothes, complete with fluorescent headbands and leg warmers. We could just bring back the 80s in our 80s. Of course, I always pictured you and I as old hippies...long hair (on our legs, heads, and armpits), flowered shirts, bell bottom jeans, clogs...doing storytime at the library.

I'm totally diggin' the muu muu idea. Count me in.

I thought about you guys last night as I watched the opening ceremonies. I fell asleep for most of it, but had I been with you I would have been awake! But I was awake when K.D. Lang performed. You would have enjoyed the discussion I had with Andrew, he was insistant that she was a man. So he went to wikipedia and learned that I was right. I love that feeling.

When we are both at the old folks' home together, we can take the bus over to the muumuu store together and pick out our wardrobes. I think matching muumuus sounds like fun. And I really hope that business about disappearing hair is true, because I detest shaving. But I detest pantyhose even more, so I endure the annoyance of shaving. It seems right to have that reward eventually.

P.S. Nice picture. I needed a laugh this morning (Stake Conference on V-day with 2 boisterous little boys=a pain in the butt).
