Olympic recap (so far):
1.) Curling is mesmerizing. And not just because of the cute guy on the German team.
2.) The Biathlon is clearly the greatest sport on the planet. Although I think that it would be better if they were shooting at targets like at those shooting galleries at Knott's Berry Farm. Maybe a nice saloon scene.
3.) I'm going to admit it here: I'm not that interested in figure skating. I don't think sports should include artistic points.
4.) But I am not ashamed to also admit: I welled up a bit when the Chinese pairs skaters won because I'm sucker for those type of stories.
5.) Timed races are a bit of a let down. Like in cross country skiing when the starts are staggered so they're just racing the clock instead of each other. I prefer the cross country skiing where they're neck and neck and their drool and snot have frozen around their mouths and it's a race to the finish. Now that's a real sport.

We watched curling last night, the Americans against Japan and they had to get out the measuring tool to see who one at the end. It was nail biting intense! LOL That was my first curling experience.
Figure skating used to be my favorite but I'm not at all interested in it this year. I've taken quite a fancy to the snowboarding races, I think because so many of them get knocked down.
You know, ever since the Opening Ceremony of Death, I've been sort of "Meh" on the Olympics.
I haven't actually watched any of it yet...
Oh Mr. Hot German boy on the Curling team. You made my lunch break yesterday so fabulous. haha. Best "sport" ever!!

I keep forgetting the Olympics are on, and then I check my DVR to see if my shows have recorded, and then I remember. No new Chuck, Office, 30 Rock or Biggest Loser until they're over. I enjoy figure skating. I think it's because I like all the sequins, and wish I got to wear outfits like that. Can you imagine a long-sleeved onesie with flames, walking down the bread aisle at Walmart? I can too.
I haven't watched any of the Olympics this year. I suppose I'm too wrapped up in school, or maybe I'm just a non-global citizen. Either way, just haven't done it. But I love the suggestion of the biathlon atheletes wearing costumes and shooting ala Knotts Farms saloon scenes-now THAT is production at its finest!

Since I haven't watched any of it, I went to the NBC site to look up the team, and the pictures make them look like convicts waiting to be shot.
(Though, there is one guy who doesn't have a picture. It that the guy? Or are one of the mug-shot guys way better on tv?)

Rachel--Your posts are always perfect. It gives me something to aspire to (I realize I will never reach anywhere near your quality, but "they" do say something about the stars and the moon that I'm sure is appropriate here).
Liz-- I love that you look things up online too. On pretty much every post I find something I need to google--especially when a cute guy is mentioned. Also, "Opening Ceremony of Death" is the best thing you could have said. I'm pretty disappointed in this year's Olympics...too many mistakes happening.
