Would one of you like to come over and cook for me?

Do you go through food phases where you eat the same things over and over again? Here's my current one:

Corn tortilla quesadilla with cheese and onions
Omelets with avocado, onions and bell peppers (This is because I have recently perfected the art of omelet making. You must be patient, young Grasshopper.)
Otter-Pops
English muffin with peanut butter and apricot jam
Hash browns

At least one of these things makes up one of my meals every day. Although I generally have 3 or 4 (okay maybe 10) Otter-Pops throughout the day. I like to believe that they are packed with vitamin C and will fight off the scurvy.

What I'm saying is, I need some suggestions for meals.

I do the same thing. I've been making three main dishes for the last month.

I'm finding them boring now, but maybe you won't. So, I want to cook one of them for you!

We need to plan a dinner date. (Although, I must warn you, I'm going through a balsamic vinegar phase. Seriously. I have three different kinds and use one at almost every meal I make.)

Here are the three meals for you to take your pick:

Beef Picadillo (except that I use turkey) with Balsamic green beans

Balsamic Glazed chicken with Parmesan couscous and roasted veggies.

Southwest Chicken salad that is VERY beautiful. (I mean, really beautiful. It looks like a rainbow exploded on your plate.)

Wow. So fancy. I was going to suggest the Barilla Spinach and Cheese tortellini (the dried variety, not the frozen--much more flavorful) with pesto. Or buy some rhodes rolls, put them out at about 1, let them thaw, fry them in oil, and put chili and veggies on top, and you've got a Navajo taco. Plus, if you thaw enough, you have dessert afterward, with butter and honey. Both easy and cheap meals. They're two of my three right now. The third one is french toast.

Here's our favorite...chicken and mushrooms. Just cook up some chicken tenders and saute mushrooms and onions (enough so that you notice, but doesn't hide chicken). Then combine about 1/3 c. worchestershire sauce, 1/3 c. honey and 1/2 c. barbeque sauce. Mix that all together in the pan and pour over rice. It's dang good and so fast to make. Last time we made it, we added bacon. Holy cow - double dang good. When ever I make it, I feel like I'm on the Food Network because it looks so fancy, but it's so easy to make. :)

Um, well I'm not much for cooking dinner. When I cook it's usually burritos or tacos that last me all week long. One of my favorite dinners is Morning Star Chik patties in a hamburger bun w/BBQ sauce. Now I am no way a vegetarian but these things are actually good. They taste like a chicken patty and it only takes 1 minute in the microwave. I like that kind of cooking!

Okay, I'm embarassed after reading the comments that my response is Bagels and Cream Cheese. That is my only consistent meal lately. That and a glass of milk or oj.
My 'more like dinner' suggestion: cobb salad: use bacon pieces, blue cheese and bagged lettuce. the only thing that takes time is boiling the eggs.
My current meal choices require no cooking.

I'm brain dead from fasting, but I'll return with some practical suggestions for you in the next couple days, there are atleast 3 on my blog see recipes or vegetarian tag.

I'll be sure to remember that Otter Pops fight scurvy...:D

I like hearing everyone's suggestions. Rach and Gina, I'm definitely going to give yours a try.

My meals might sound complicated, but they only take 20 minutes to prepare. Actually, the one that requires the most prep is the salad.

The other two only have ingredients that come from the pantry or the freezer (including all the vegetables I use.I'm too lazy to even cut onions or peppers.)

Here's my recent easy yummy one. It's Italian chicken. Cook 2 frozen chicken breasts in slow cooker for 4 hours on high. (melt about 1/4 C butter and packet of Italian seasoning on top). 1/2 hour before it's done, shred the chicken and mix 1 can of cream of chicken soup and about 1/2-3/4 of a cream cheese block(softened of course) into the chicken and let it finish cooking. Serve over noodles or rice (I like noodles). YUM

Lots of ideas out there! I'm on a cooking kick lately, so I have some recipes to share. I'm actually planning a post about a few of them, but have to get my 100th post out of the way first. Check back in a few days!

My Quick-n-easy meal is always a Pizza Sandwich: It's basically a grilled cheese sandwich, but with pizza sauce and peperoni. So good! and if I want to get extra fancy, I put parmesan cheese on the buttered side of the bread before putting it on the pan; and I like to put some ranch dressing on top and eat it with a fork and knife.

I've yet another chickenish dish. I throw a couple frozen chicken breasts on a frying pan with frozen cauliflower and broccoli, and add what ever marinade I like. Usually some italian dressing and light butter. While those are starting to thaw I slice up an orange bell pepper and throw that in there. Let it all simmer until it's done, and add cheese once it's in a dish. Faboo.

OH--I cant believe I forgot to mention the most important part--it's gotta be Muenster(?) cheese.
