Keep them away from the knife drawer

Dear Man Who Saw the Look of Horror/Disgust/Confusion/Panic on my Face Yesterday Somewhere Near the 210/57 Interchange in Glendora,

That was not meant for you. I'm sorry that I scared you.

You should know that I don't really like dolls. I've never owned a Barbie or a Cabbage Patch Kid and I have never been able to understand why people like them at all. They just sit there, staring at you, probably plotting to kill you in your sleep.

So, you can understand why hearing this on NPR yesterday would make me have that look. I'm sorry that it happened just as I turned to see if the lane next to me was clear and there you were, staring back at me. You can't tell from the transcript so maybe you should listen to it, because you will want to hear the tone of voice these women use when talking about their dolls - like they have shelves of scrapbooks dedicated to them. Right next to the shelves of crazy pills.

Again, my sincerest apologies. But by now you understand.

Best,
Rachel

Oh my gosh...I knew there were crazy people out there, but this is a whole new level. I totally understand your look--I'm actually hoping no one walks by my desk right now, because I cant seem to get the same look of Horror/disgust/confusion/panic off my face.

Eeeewwwww. Creepy. Those pictures are going to give me nightmares. And I thought people that dressed up their dogs were nuts. This is a whole new level. Hey, maybe one will show up on ANTM. A Tyra Bot lookalike! I wouldn't be surprised...

Never see Lars And The Real Girl. Creepy beyond all creepiness. I never got over it the whole movie and was almost throwing up. Why my brother liked it enough to buy it, I will never understand.

Ashley, I actually really loved Lars and the Real Girl and I don't think I even really thought of Bianca as a doll. They did such a great job humanizing her. Although I can see the creepy side too.

You're right, reading the transcript does this story no justice. And that woman who "owned" her craziness? Why do people think as long as they "own" whatever weird thing they're into it makes it okay?
It doesn't.

I feel the same way about dolls...I used to love them, but around 11 I just started to be freaked out by them. I don't think I will be buying Kelsi any....
