WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Ice Cream Social, in honor of my 9th place victory in that blog contest that was so long ago you all can hardly remember it, is back on.

It will be this Saturday, August 15, 2009 from 2-4 at a location to be determined. It will be at a park in Upland but I haven't decided which one yet. I'll let you know. Ice cream and cones will be provided. There will be no vanilla. Camille informed me last night that she knows several people who don't like their ice cream in cones. This seems ridiculous to me and I don't believe I could possibly be friends with any of them, but you never know, so I'll also provide a very small number of bowls and spoons.

The ice cream social is in conjunction with my Birthday Jubilee which means that party hats are appropriate. There may also be a pinata. I haven't decided yet. I love my birthday. LOVE IT! And I love having birthday parties because birthday parties are a means of gathering all of my favorite people together for fun and ice cream. Which is exactly my plan for the ice cream social. Because, coincidentally, you're all of my favorite people.

So, if you have the time and you're in the area bring the fam and enjoy a cone with me. Wear sun screen.

I'm feeling very sad that I will miss this! Know that I will be thinking about you and I would take my ice cream in a cone, please.
The only possible drawback to the cone is the quantity of ice cream that will fit in a cone. Unless it's one of those ginormous waffle cones, it seems, I always need a second.
Enjoy your birthday, ice cream and the knowledge that you are the 9th funnies blogger out there. I actually think you rank, way higher, but you're still gaining your following. Keep it up!
love you!

I like Amanda am very sad as I sit here and read this post. It's no fun to miss an Ice Cream Social AND your birthday party. I will make sure I have an ice cream cone in honor of you. And some cake. And a pinata. Well, maybe not the pinata part, but I will for sure do something fun in honor of the Queen.

This makes ME sad because it's too cold to eat ice cream or wear sunscreen in NZ. I can't wait for winter to be over!

Oh! You rescheduled it because I was out of town! How sweet! That it coincides with your birthday is just a wonderful bonus. By Saturday I may be able to stomach getting in the car again (the horrible awful story of getting back home has not been blogged about yet). And by the way, cake cones are the ONLY way to eat ice cream.

Colleen - you are a sinner for thinking cake cones are even made for the blessing that is ice cream. Sugar cones - it's like having a graham cracker for a topping! They stay crunchy and the flavor just gets better the more melty the ice cream. The cake cones just melt and get soggy.

I still love you.

Sorry to have to miss out on the fun, Rachel. I hereby solemnly promise to make any social engagement where you are the star . . . if I am ever in town.

I'm sorry Stephanie, but Colleen is right on this. Cake cones are superior.

We will both still love you.

I'll have an honorary ice cream cone on Saturday in your honor. I'm sorry I can't be there. Could we please get a bullet train that goes from ogden to Upland? Then I wouldn't have to sit and hear about all the fun and know I'm missing it. And happy birthday.
