Happy Birthday Mom!

How about a non-Tunisian blog post.  (Boy, what a relief, right?)  How about something really important?  Something like...

MY MOM'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Since I am in Far Far Away Land and can't be there for her birthday celebration I thought we could celebrate right here.  So let's all give three cheer for my beautiful, wonderful, funny, sassy, all-around terrific Mom.  Feel free to post your love and admiration for her in the comments section.

I love you, Mom!

Happy birthday, Rachel's mom! You are a fabulous mom, and I know it because I know your fabulous kids. Plus you have fed and housed me while I visited California, and I loved being at your house. 3 cheers to you!

I love you Rachel. I sure missed you at my Birthday Fest 2010. I could feel the love all the way from Tunisia. I also have a great love for your fabulous friends. You chose wisely!

Happy Birthday! I'll say something similar to what I said on your husband's birthday post. I am so grateful for you, mostly because of the wonderful and amazing friends I have been so blessed to have, who also happen to be your daughters! Because they are all SO fabulous, that means YOU are fabulous! Thanks for being such a great woman and mother to them!

Dear Mama Knecht,

Thank you for lending us your daughter for a few months. You should know she is changing lives here. We all adore her, especially Sam. I know I will be consoling him for weeks when she leaves.

Happy Birthday from Tunis!

Ginger, happy birthday. I mean it.

p.s. A confession: when you babysat us after school at El Rancho, sometimes Lindsay and I ate more than the allotted two cookies. Though, that was mostly Lindsay's idea (sorry linds). And also, they were really, really good.

Valerie: Your comment made me laugh a little more than necessary. How dare you take more than 2. That was a solid rule.

Valerie, I'm sure you weren't the only one that took more than their alloted cookie ration, and why doesn't it surprise me that it was Lindsay's idea. Glad you enjoyed and I forgive you. I have to confess that I have, more than once, taken more than my alloted amount of cookies. They are good! Thanks for the good wishes and fond memories.

Rachel, I love all of your friends. They are the BEST!

Valerie, Your confession is the best! Can't wait for the Knecht/Appel reunion at Christmas!
