Follow-Up

This is a follow-up to the previous post:

1.) For Sam & Holly: The name of the restaurant is...um...El Something Or Other. It is just south of Arrow on Fairplex (although Google Maps calls is Ganesha. It is not. The street sign said Fairplex.)(Maybe this is Pomona. It makes sense. All good Mexican food is in Pomona.) It is nestled between the University of LaVerne, the fair grounds and Brackett Field. I will also recommend another favorite that Chiquita has got me hooked on. Los Jarritos, also in Pomona. It's on Garey just south of Foothill in a little shopping center by the Islamic school.

2.) A gentleman by the name of Bob left the following comment:
I suspect the folks listed on this web page don't think the American Restroom
Association is silly
www.americanrestroom.org/pr/who.htm
You MUST follow this link. And DO NOT laugh at it. Nor when you read the term "spastic colon". Nor when you see the pictures of the his and her restroom signs. Because it is NOT FUNNY AT ALL. I can imagine that it is a really horrible problem to fear your bladder is going to explode (name the movie) every time you go out of the house because there may not be a bathroom where you are going. And I really shouldn't make fun of this because I'm 80 and incontinence is just around the corner.

3.) If I had $80,000 and a year I would consider paying off my student loans for about a second and then I would pack up my ruck sack and kiss the folks good-bye and head off to far-flung places of the world like Patagonia and Zanzibar and Kathmandu. I would talk to the locals and eat their cuisine and learn how to say, "Where's the bathroom," in every language. And I would blog about it. Wouldn't you love to read blog posts about my adventures in India? I am currently accepting donations for the Rachel Travels the World Fund. I promise to send postcards.

Dear Rachel,
I am sorry to say I am not able to donate to the Rachel Travels the World Fund because I am busy trying to pay for the Angela Wants to Finish The Master's Program and Angela Travels To Utah County to See Her Nephew funds. No, it's not nearly as exciting, but there are many bathrooms.

No I would not enjoy reading about your adventures in India. I think Dad and I would curl up in a ball just thinking about your adventures in India.

For those of you who don't habla espaƱol, El Something Or Other is spanish for The Something Or Other. Hole-in-the-wall mexican restaurants are the best. Try to find one with a saint or candles or both.

I read your post while on my flight home. I wanted to leave a longer comment but right as I started they announced it was time to turn off all computer devices. So I could only squeeze the What About Bob, did I get it right? Would you be surprised if I told you that I am one of the few that is afraid my bladder would explode?

Well, at least you CONSIDERED paying off your student loans for a second...that counts for something...

Yes, I would love to read your blog about your travels...and if I had $80,000 dollars, I would even slack off on a school loan payment and donate to your cause...

And the site about the restrooms is needful and, probably timely, because karma really has no sense of humor...or timing...

I want to say it's called "el matador" or something equally fierce...but I could be wrong...
Ok, I found it: http://www.elmerenderoonline.com/merendero1
And I was wrong.

It's El Merendero and they have the BEST nachos. Seriously.

Rachel, you need to set up a PayPal account that's linked to your blog! You'd totally get some $$!

Dang it. I slacked on blog reading and missed being the first one to say What About Bob. I love that movie (I sail!). I love that the comment was from Bob and it made you think about What About Bob. Perfect. As someone who truly appreciates a good restroom, I'm grateful for those associations that spend time making them great. Really. And Rachel, if you travel, I'm going on a leg with you and showing you around Italy. You must go.

We need to go to lunch, since you know all the hot spots in my area.

And also, I just thought of what your signature could be:

Rachel Knecht, FRC (Future Restroom Challenged) You know, for when you really are 80.

Okay so i'm going to send my dad the link to the bathroom association. He will totally be on board. He always knows where the best public bathrooms are.
