This Blog is an 80 year old woman

Well, what do you know, it's my 400th post. Did pinwheel fireworks sprout out of your computer? Because they sure did on mine.

So far I have celebrated by SENDING OUT RESUMES!!!!! And FILLING OUT ONLINE APPLICATIONS!!!!!!! I tell you, the fun never stops around here. I was just about to dig out my recorder to play Miley Cyrus' classic hit Party in the USA as I march down to the mail box to see if my unemployment paperwork has come in.

But how I'm really going to celebrate is by diving into the World's Largest Felt Collection to make something funny to give away to one of you. I'm going to attempt Richard Simmons on a bookmark.

If you want him leave me a comment telling me what your favorite breakfast cereal is and you'll be in the drawing. I ask because as I was pulling down my box of Rice Crispies from the top of the fridge this morning I counted 11 boxes of cereal up there. Which should be an indication to you that breakfast cereal is not just for breakfast 'round these parts.

And it should be noted that when I write "breakfast cereal" I'm writing it with a British accent because that is how I hear it in my head in the voice of Michael Palin:

Malt-O-Meal cinnamon toasters. Because I'm cheap. With soymilk, because I'm a hypocrite who is incapable of veganism. With ground flax seeds all over the top. Because I am also an 80-year-old woman.

Colleeeen, I heard a comedian once say that there is no such thing as soy milk, because soy beans have no breasts. But that doesn't stop me from drinking it either.

In my best British accent, one of my favorite breakfast cereals is (there are many-it ain't just for breakfast here either) Cinnamon Life.

Ahhhhhhh......

Congratulations on your 400th post. That's exciting. Have you considered looking at blurb.com and publishing your blog? Have you? Well? Just sayin'....

My favourite (british) cereal is lucky charms - because my great-grandma used to buy it for us and we used to eat the whole box at one sitting.

Since I am no longer accepting empty calories simply because of memories, my next favorite is wheat chex, with no sugar and skim milk.

Yes, I am also 80.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch. And basically any other sugar cereal. Because as a child, I was sugar cereal deprived. My mom would only buy Cheerios, Wheaties, and Corn Flakes.

I can't eat one cereal at a time. It's just too boring for me. Instead I have favorite cereal blends. Here's a few: Strawberry Special K mixed with Cracklin' Oat Bran, Honey Bunches of Oats mixed with Kashi Go Lean, and Flax Seed Granola mixed with Kashi Honey Toasted Oats. Needless to say our cupboards look like the ceral isle at the grocery store. But I love them. In fact given the option to have eggs or a cereal blend for breakfast, hands down it's the cereal blend.

My children think it's totally perverse, but I love shredded wheat. Love it. I can eat it by the enormous bowlful. Sometimes, I don't even need sugar on it.

There's actually 12 boxes of cereal. There wasn't room on top of the fridge for my latest purchase, so I stashed it in a cupboard. Do we need an intervention?

Consider me entered in this contest. p.s. I like fruit loops...like an American.

I think you know my favorite breakfast cereal. Marshmallow Maties, of course. Ahoy! I have never stopped loving them, and probably never will. Congrats on the 400 posts. That is fantastic. I hope to reach that number some day. I have loved every one of those 400 posts. Thanks for the joy you provide. I hope I win the bookmark. Fingers crossed.

I love Cheerios and I'm not ashamed to admit it - Cheerios with sliced banana and skim milk, thank you very much.

I wish you the best of everything in your job hunt and the best of everything to me in my quest to own a Rachel Felt Original!

I'm going to have to go with Reese's Puffs. Have you ever had them? I don't buy them because it's like eating a candy bar for breakfast, but let's be honest, who wouldn't want to eat a candy bar for breakfast?

Life cereal - I could eat it 5 times a day if I could afford it. Chop up a banana or strawberries and now its perfect for summer!

Bronwyn and I are best friends for a reason. Reese's Puffs are the very best of cereals. I of course do buy them and eat them for breakfast and any other time of day. I'm pretty sure it's fortified with all sorts of healthy things. :)
Warning to the masses: if you consume too many bowls of Reese's Puffs in a short period of time, your mouth will be torn up terribly. Same as with Captain Crunch Berries, my second favorite cereal!

Ok so I couldn't remember your email so I am sending this through your blog. If for some reason you don't find a job by the 28th...and I hope that you do. I was wondering if you could think up a craft for the achievement girls to do that thursday?

Let me know what you think.

I'm a huge fan of Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran, but that was always off limits when I was a kid (it's dad's favorite, so we had it in the house, but it's too expensive for the 8 kids to eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and multiple daily snacks (which is what we like to do)). I also love MultiGrain Cheerios. Mmm, Cereal. I need some now. Good thing I keep some in my drawer at work!

I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cereal. It's tasty and Richard Simmons approved. I'm sure it is.

Post Selects like Blueberry Morning and the banana nut crunch one. Although I almost never get it because it's too expensive. So I have to settle for the Aldi version. Do you have Aldi in CA?
I would love a Richard Simmons bookmark. Or any Rachel Knecht felt masterpiece. And I would really use it because I'm about 75 pages into Atlas Shrugged. At the rate I'm going I might possibly finish it in the next 3 years.
