Fat-head

Great news...I am no longer dead. Let's have some fun.

Anyone who has been over to my house for laughs and hi-jinx knows that eventually at some point in the night, usually the point that is a few hours past my bedtime, I pull out the measuring tape and start measuring heads. It is darn funny. I do this because it's sort of a tradition in my family. The Knechts have enormous heads. In fact, I'm the shame of my family because I only come in at 22 inches, which, I would like to point out, is still too big to find hats that fit.

Because I'm in the mood for a good chuckle I've decided to hold a contest and all are invited to participate. Everyone grab a measuring tape and measure your head and then leave a comment with your size in inches. The people with the smallest and largest head will receive a prize of something funny made out of felt (just what you've always wanted) as well as our esteem and awe. Also, if you make it over 24 inches you get automatic membership into the Two-Foot Club. If I were a member I would make membership cards for you but I'm a little bitter so make your own.

Oh, and for a real laugh, why don't you send me a picture of you measuring your head at rachelknecht at gmail dot com. I'll post them when I announce the winners. Come on, it will be fun!

24.5 inches. I am the VP of the 2ft club. Any candidates desiring membership must submit a pic to Rachel because measuring one's head looks ridiculous.

23 inches. I thought my head was smaller than that. I think my head's actually grown since I've joined the Knecht clan, or maybe it just looks smaller than it actually is since there's so little hair.

22.5 - large, but not large enough to win anything. Does it count that I can never find a hat that fits?

I'm 22.5 as well. That still puts me in almost the 98% for girls (age 18). I guess the average is 21.5-ish. That's your random fact for the day!

21.25 inches--i know this because we were measuring heads and sundry other body parts at a dinner party i recently attended (rachel, i should introduce you to the hostess). a new neurosis was born that night: apparently i have freakishly small ears and i never knew. i'm afraid i'd be a horribly maladjusted adult if not for all the hair.

I measured 23.5. Just missed out. Drat! I get some props for pushing all those big heads out. Rachel, I appreciate your smaller head.

23 inches. I think we should start a new club for all of us that are feeling a bit left out. Who said 24 inches is the magic number anyway?? Hm.. I think 22 sounds lovely. Oh, except that still leaves out Courtney and since she is already feeling bad about her ears, we should include her.

21.5" Wow - That is something that I truly have never done before and I'm totally with Amanda. What makes 24 so definitive. Its how many hours are in a day but thats about all I can think of.

23.5. I just missed the party of 24's. Sad. But, I think if I shaved all my hair I would easily loose 3 inches. Then I would be able to fit into the hats I would desperately need.

21.5 inches, I measured before work this morning and now my hair is a little flatter than usual. It's a high price to pay but I'll do anything for you Rachel!

21.25 inches. I think it's shrinking every day. I can find hats just fine. Which is why I think I want to join the Red Hat ladies, or whatever they're called. They have the most fabulous hats!

23....so close! I am ashamed to say that I have fat hair which may have added an inch or so to my width....but I still came close!

22.5 in. Sigh--I always thought I had a smaller head, but I guess i'm right in the middle. now as for my son Landon--now that's a big cranium. No wonder he has trouble holding it up consistantly!

I come in at about 23 inches. Maggiore's have some pretty good noggin's, as well. In fact, in the early 90s after playing football at Oregon State, Mike (my bro) played football on Cal Poly's club team, and he had to use his Oregon State (orange) helmet because Cal Poly didn't have a helmet that would fit him.

My husband beats all of you! I just knew when I saw this contest he would be the winner. At 25 inches baby! Does he get a felt prize?? Does he? Does he? Or have I posted too late....I didn't even bother with my head. Figured it wouldn't compete.

Oh, and I re read that comment and am annoyed that I called Jason "husband" instead of using his name. He does have an identity. Jason L. Riley, otherwise known as "bighead."

I finally remembered to do mine...but I guess I'm sort of in the middle of the pack at 22.25"!

Ha, your right maybe I can win the smallest head award not that I'm really that proud of it, I'm just constantly teased in my family because I do have a tiny HEED! 20inches an maybe a cm or 2. Even sadder fact, my children are both measuring in at 19 inches a piece. SAD!!!! But worth a good laugh ;P
