Late Night Carpentry

Nearly every night in between the hours of 10 and 11 someone in my neighborhood is hammering something. Sometimes it goes on for the full hour. And sometimes, like tonight, it's just a couple of hits.

I have a few guesses as to what is being built:

A pirate ship
A trebuchet
A tree house
A giant hamster wheel
An outdoor amphitheater to stage an elaborate production of Fiddler on the Roof
Barrels for mass quantity pickling purposes

What's your guess?

Maybe it's an ark.

It's probably a skateboarding ramp. You should find it and practice your skills.

It's a fort to protect themselves because they heard about your incredible nun-chuck skills.

My first guess was an ark, but seeing as that is taken, I think it is a battering ram, which will be used to enter your apt and steal your giant felt collection. Just a warning, you might want to get a guard dog.

You know it's probably a kid that doesn't want to go to bed. A neighbour of ours posted flyers in all the letterboxes around ours about banging at 3am that was waking her up every night when we were living in an apartment complex. We still didn't click that it was our son until she knocked on our door a few days later.

A Trojan horse? Not the computer kind. You never know what some people are up to.

Gina, thank you for reminding me of Rick! Maybe it is someone with a really large moopie stick!!

He's hammering a nail into his sin board. One for every time he coveted your Life of Elegant Leisure, and fabulous felt collection.
